The Welcome Center Heilbronn-Franken – Background

In order to combat the threat of scarcity of qualified employees in the Heilbronn-Franken Region, the Fachkräftebündnis Heilbronn-Franken (League of Qualified Employees of Heilbronn-Franken) was founded in 2012. Partners in the league are: the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Heilbronn-Franken, the Chamber of Crafts Heilbronn-Franken, the Employers' Association Heilbronn-Franken reg. assoc., Wirtschaftsregion Heilbronn-Franken GmbH (WHF), the German Trade Union Region Nordwürttemberg and also the Employment Agencies of Heilbronn and of Schwäbisch Hall-Tauberbischofsheim.  The partners in the league, by working together through appropriate measures and campaigns, wish to permanently ensure the foundation of qualified employees in the region, and to support regional businesses in their search for appropriate qualified employees.  In this process the partners have agreed to areas such as women, training and continuing training as well as extra-regional and foreign qualified employees as essential fields of activity.  Together with the Employment Agency Schwäbisch Hall-Tauberbischofsheim, the WHF takes responsibility in the context of the League of Qualified Employees for the area of activity of extra-regional qualified employees.

In this context, WHF applied to the Ministry of Finances and Economy to set up a Welcome Center.  During the eligibility period until the end of 2014, WHF exercises the general management both in the design and the implementation of the Welcome Center.

The Welcome Center is financed completely by funds from the European Social Fund, and it is scheduled to open in the second half of 2014.
